Membership renewals

 

Members paying their fees in three instalments are reminded that

the second instalment became due on 1st May 2011.

 

Any outstanding monies should be paid to the Membership Secretary as soon as possible.

 

Reminder to new players - you may attend for six weeks,

after which you are expected to become members of the Society.

A grant has been received  from the Sunderland City Council (Community Chest) 

towards the costs of the next concert.

Jane Boyd (Cello) and Stephen are pleased to announce the birth of Ethan on 4th February.

 

Orchestra holidays

 

There will be NO rehearsals on Wednesdays 3rd and 10th August 2011.

Last concert

 

‘A Night at the Opera’ was very well received and attracted

the largest audience for a very long time.

Rachel Orr, soloist, excelled herself and thrilled the audience

with her performance.

The Orchestra's Music Library

 

The Orchestra's music library has now been catalogued and the details

made available to all members via e-mail.

Any member without a computer who would like a copy of the list, please contact the Chairman.

Summer concert

Featuring Rob Buckland, internationally acclaimed as one of the most distinctive

and versatile saxophonists of his generation.

 

Rob is Professor of Saxophone at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester,

and he performs regularly throughout the UK, Europe and Japan.

 

It is a great honour to have him performing with our orchestra.
