as soloist in Mozart’s Clarinet concerto in A.
Closure of West Park Church
Two offers have been made to Synod, regarding the possible purchase of West Park Church, but no determination has yet been made.
The Northern Synod Trust has allowed our continued use of the premises,
for which we are most grateful.
Sponsorship and donations
Following our previous appeal, items of music for both the March and July concerts have been sponsored by Alderman Mark Greenfield.
These were acknowledged in the concert programmes
and are gratefully received.
Anyone wishing to sponsor an item for a concert should contact
the Chairman in the first instance.
Also following our appeal, a number of donations have been received,
including an anonymous donation of £2000.00.
Many thanks to the donors.
We extend our sympathy to orchestra member Americo Dos Santos (Clarinet) on the passing of his partner, Marilyn Wing, on June 15th,
following a battle with cancer.
Orchestra members supported Americo at the committal proceedings.
